There’s a lady called Rebecca Goyette who is gaining her 15 minutes of interwebs fame by telling cops their job is to beat up “Nazis” so that she doesn’t have to. Or something like that.

Megan Fox over at PJ Media spent a couple of minutes googling and figured out that despite her implied claim to be a (NYU) professor, she’s actually an “artist” whose main claim fame is lobster porn. She is also into the Salem witch trials (probably NSFW) and sells sculptures of genitals and other artwork(NSFW, don’t click if feeling nauseous) that looks like it was done by a six year old, only of “naughty” subjects that we don’t normally expect young children to make.

She even has a website (also NSFW, don’t click if feeling nauseous) where her greatest hits can been seen.

Based on her diatribes and rants I’m fairly sure Ms Goyette is “anti-capitalist” and a hater of the free market etc. However the free market also serves those who disagree with it. Indeed the great thing about the free market is that it allows buyers and sellers to come together so that the products of the latter are exchanged for lucre from the former. Ms Goyette participates in this process as she apparently sells the products of her labors (I hesitate to call it art) to people who pay with their own money for it.

Now I’m sure she also gets a bunch of taxpayer funded slushfund grants from the NEA and so on, but at least some of what she lives on she earned by identifying underserved niches in the artistic marketplace (lobster porn, puritan penises) and filling them. Even though I think you’d be mental to buy her product – I mean where do you display it? and if you want porn, then lobstawoman is surely an obscure fetish – the free market as a whole is not so judgmental. There is demand for such stuff and by golly Rebecca Goyette has cornered the market in serving it. Well done to her and to the free market for allowing her to earn enough money to feed, clothe and house herself.
